The Yingge Ceramics Museum, located in the Yingge District of New Taipei City, Taiwan, officially opened on November 26, 2000. It is the first professional museum in Taiwan dedicated to ceramics. The museum focuses on the investigation, collection, preservation, and maintenance of Taiwan's ceramic culture. It offers research, collections, exhibitions, and educational promotions. Through various activities, exhibitions, and workshops, the museum aims to stimulate public interest and appreciation for ceramic culture, enhance the image of the Yingge ceramics industry, promote modern ceramic art creation, and facilitate international exchanges.

The museum has over 3,000 collections, showcasing the rich diversity of Taiwanese ceramics. The collection primarily focuses on the history of Taiwanese ceramics and modern ceramic art, including early domestic pottery, contemporary works from Taiwan and abroad, as well as ceramics produced in Yingge and related documentation.

We will visit "2024 Taiwan Ceramics Biennale"
Since 2004, the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum has hosted the "Taiwan Ceramics Biennale". The first and second editions (in 2004 and 2008) allowed ceramic artists from all over the world to submit their pieces into the competition. Artistic pieces that won were exhibited at the museum. From 2010 onward, the museum changed the event from a competition to a thematic system, allowing artists to collaborate on exhibitions fitting a designated theme. Since then, the museum has alternated every two years between the competitions and thematic approaches.

The 2024 Taiwan Ceramics Biennale is held as a competition. This year marks the 10th edition of the event, and has set a new record for the highest number of submissions with a total of 1,216 submissions from 66 countries. The competition judges, composed of seven international ceramic experts, selected 20 award-winning pieces through a two-stage evaluation process. This includes one Grand Prix, one Gold, one Silver, one Bronze, nine Special Mentions, seven Jury’s Recommendations, and 54 selected works.
